My Train Story

On the weekend my family went on the train which was red and white and it had wheels. We looked at the waterfall and rocks and trees. The train went over a big bridge. The train stopped at the train station and we got off.  We had a good time on the train.  By Christopher

FOOTBALL SPECIAL OLYMPICS AT McLEANS COLLEGE by Gregory

On Tuesday the 21st of June our class went to McLean's College to play soccer.  We traveled in cars. Our team was called the Edgewater Spiders.  We played 2 games.  The turf felt soft and springy. William and Braydon were our goalies.  Kate kicked lots of goals.  We won one game.  After that we enjoyed a sausage sizzle with our friends.  We were given Special Olympic Certificates.
I thought it was a great day.

During the holidays I went to Sylvia Park to watch a movie.  It was called Dory 2.  We
had popcorn and a drink.

VISIT TO SOMMERVILLE CAFE by Braydon

On the 13/5/16 our class went to the Sommerville Cafe.  It was actually on Friday the 13th.  I jumped into Geara (my cool teacher's) car.  When we got there the cafe looked awesome.  After that we sat down and ordered.  I got soup and coffee.  Afterwards we thanked the waiters.

I loved the cafe so much I hope we go to the cafe every year for our morning tea.

KELLY TARLTON VISIT by William

On the 30th of May, Saturday, my family went to Kelly Tarlton's in the morning.  I saw the sharks and they were big and great.  We saw some penguins and seals there too.  I loved it there.

I LOVE THE CIRCUS by Braydon

On Sunday afternoon Willow, Sonny, Elona and I went to the Circus Quirkus.  At the circus we sat down and we ate some food: vegetable chips and a drink of water.  The weather was bad, it was raining all day and I saw the snow.
The ringmaster gave us instructions to stay sitting in our seats.  We went to McDonald's for a frozen coke, some hot chips and a burger too.
We had a great day.

HAIR CUT AT THE BARBERS by Tryden

How exciting it was to have an extra day off school.  On Saturday I went to the Barber shop to get my hair cut and styled.  I really liked my haircut.  It was cool.  I caught up with my friends at Sylvia Park.  I had a great time at the Mall.

My Trip to Manukau by Ana

On Saturday I went to Manukau with Mum, Lenny and Uncle Mark.  Uncle Mark drove us in his car.  First we went to the Manukau City Centre.  It was a big place.  We ate lunch at the Food Court.  I had a Big Mac, chips and a coke to drink.  After lunch we went to The Warehouse.  I bought a Frozen colouring book.  It was an exciting day.

Olivia's Birthday by William

On Saturday it was my sister Olivia's birthday.  She is 18 now.  We had some people come for cake and drinks.  I got her a magazine called "The Woman's Day" and a lovely red rose flower.  Dad gave Olivia a T-shirt, a can of coke and some chocolates.  We had an exciting day.

LEYA GOES TO FARMERS

On Saturday I went to Botany with Liam and Dad.  I went to Farmers and bought some clothes.  When I got home I watched "Inside Out".  My Auntie came to visit for a while at my house.  She talked to Mum, had a cup of tea and a cupcake.  I had a strawberry milk shake.  It was fun.

HOLIDAY FUN by Monica

During the holidays I played with Alex and Shanise at camp.  We all went to the hot pools 

and swam all afternoon.  Sam, the Carer, made dinner for everyone at camp.  It was fun there.

MUM’S MOTORBIKE by Kate

Mum went to Manukau to show a lady her motor bike because she is selling it.  She is getting a new job.

TRIP TO PIHA by William

This Friday, after school (10.5.16) I am going to camp at Piha for a boy’s weekend.  Mum is dropping me off at the office.  Mark will drive us there.  My friend and I are going to love it.  I am excited to be going there.  I am looking forward to spending time with my friends.  I hope I can spend more time on the beach.

What a surprise I got when Sonny, my Carer, brought a hot chicken for our family to eat for an awesome dinner.

We had bread and butter with it.  I hope we have that every day.  It was delicious.

OASIS SLEEPOVER by Christopher

I went to Oasis on Friday after school.  After I unpacked my bag we went for a drive to the playground to play on the swing.  I felt happy.  I love Oasis.

MY VISIT TO SYLVIA PARK by Marciano

I went to Sylvia Park with Mum and my sister to buy some new clothes for Junior.  I had a frozen strawberry and my sister had a frozen coke.  Mum never had a drink.

It was fun.

THE WORLD OF GUMBO

On Sunday I stayed at home and watched TV.  I watched World of Gumbo.  Tyranasaurus Rex, Darwin, and Mr Robinson were screaming because they were annoyed with each other and didn’t like each other.  My favourite part was the music at the end because it had funny words.

DENTIST VISIT by Leya

On Friday Dad took me to the Orthodontist in Pakuranga because my teeth were sore.

He said “Open Wide” and I did.  I got new purple braces that match my jacket.  They look cool.  The Orthodontist took a photo of my new braces.

After the visit, Dad took me back home so I could rest.

DOCTOR'S VISIT by Gregory

This week I had to have a day off school as my throat was sore.  My doctor is a man and he had a look in my throat with a big lollie-pop stick.  He put a stethoscope on my chest and it was cold.  We drove in the car to Botany.  It was fun.

MY WEEKEND SURPRISE by Tryden

On Saturday my little sister phoned me from my Aunty's house in Papakura.  She said "I miss you very much." and I said "it is nice to hear your voice too".  She told me that she has joined".the Kapa Haka group at School and she loves it.  She would like to come and visit me sometime.

I felt really excited to hear from her.

OASIS SLEEPOVER by Monica

Last Sunday night Dianne dropped me off at Oasis by 5 pm.   Lisa made dinner for everyone at Oasis.  We all went in the van for a ride to the ice-cream shop. I had a nice time there.  I am so happy to be going back home today.

MY BIRTHDAY PARTY BY Ana

On Saturday I had a birthday party at Burger King in Sylvia Park near my old school.  I went with my family and Uncle Roger and Aunty Sandra.  I ate a Junior Whopper Burger and chips.  There was a party for me at school also where the teacher gave me a chocolate cake with some candles on it.  I was excited.

PIHA TRIP

This Friday, after school I am going to camp at Piha for a boy's weekend.  Mum is dropping me off at the office and then Mark will drive us there.  I think I am going to love it and am very excited to go there.  I am looking forward to spending time with my friends.  I hope I can spend some time on the beach the black sand.

Going Outside the House

In the weekend my brother and sister and I went outside to the back yard of our house.   When we got there I put my gloves and socks and shoes on.  We looked at the weeds and long grass and then went to the carport to grab some more weeds and grass.  We had such a brilliant time and I hope I can go and help my brother and sister again.

My Birthday

In February it was my birthday and I had butter chicken for dinner.  I am 15 now so am an old man.

Sports Day at Tamaki

Before the holidays we went to Tamaki Sports day with lots of other classes.  When we got there we had morning tea under a canopy.  Some of the games were:  throwing the ball through a hole, mini soccer, running races, javelin throws and the obstacle course (which Geara was on).

We had a break and sat under a canopy to have our lunch and played one or two more games and then went back to school.  I loved the sports day.

Dinner Time by Ana

On Saturday Mum cooked Tuna Pasta and fish fingers for our family dinner.  We ate it in the lounge while watching TV.  After we had eaten, Dad and I carried our plates into the kitchen and I helped Dad with the dishes.  Dad washed them and I liked it when he put the soap in the water because it made lots of bubbles.  I enjoyed our dinner because it was very tasty.

My Cat Lucy by Gregory

My cats name is Lucy.  She is 5 years old.  Lucy is a tabby cat.  She has dark brown fur.  Sometimes Lucy runs away from me.  She gets nervous.  She likes to play with her toy mouse.  She eats cat food from a container.  Lucy’s food looks like small pellets. 

I love my cat Lucy.

Home Sick

The other week I was sick at home because my throat was very sore.  I had a high temperature so Mum took me to the Doctor and she looked at my throat.  She gave me some antibiotics.  After that, we went home to sleep.

I stayed home for one whole week to get better.

Sports Day at Tamaki by William

Last Friday we went to Tamaki for sports day. With lots of classes. Some of the game were; throwing the ball through a hole, mini soccer. We sat under a canopy for morning tea. I did running races, and javelin throws to play sport games.

SPORTS DAY AT TAMAKI INTERMEDIATE

Last Friday we went to the Sports Day at Tamaki.We went to play Sports games. We played on The golf course.There were lots of classes. We threw the ball through a hole,We played lots of games such as tennis. We also had running races. It rained a little. We sat under a canopy and had morning tea.  We did rope pulling and we stepped over the hula hoops.

We did javelin throws, I felt happy. I liked Sports Day at Tamaki.

Conor's COFFEE TIPS

Coffee TIPS

TIP one.  Make sure your milk is frothy with milk to the top,  light texture milk to the bottom  and medium texture milk to the middle.

Tip two.  Coffee beans must be roasted and hot.

Tip three.  Grind the coffee beans before you roast them.

Tip four.  Put coffee into shot mugs.

Tip five. Pour coffee and milk and a bit of sprinkled chocolate powder on top of the milk.

Thats some tips to making a perfect coffee.

This was my favourite movie because it had my favourite song and a Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver. I liked the part where the main hero saves the day from a computer virus.

The lesson in that movie was do not accept pop ups on your computer.
