A Snake in the Attic by Braydon.

2 m long boa constrictor  is  the main character in this news article. The  Family  finds  a 2 m  snake living in their  roof for 2 to 4 years. Animal  control  arrived at the home  twice  but  were unable  to remove  the snake  both times. Officers  told  the family  it was  likely  diamondback  rattlesnake.  This event took place in  Englewood, Florida.

It was an informal photograph.

The photo on the page 9 was much more formal. It was also taken when new technology made it easier to photograph what went on in the world outside the studio.

The native bush were being destroyed and fire was a quicker way of  getting  rid of native bushes.

The 2 stories this photograph show,that  the hard work that went into making and running a farm – but also the impact of that hard work on our forests.

The sight of the background was so common in the 1890s.

A Rare Koala Bear by Braydon

Koala, a bear,  from a zoo in Australia is   the main  character in this news article. This  is a rare white koala and  it been born in  Queensland zoo.    

She is not albino. Keepers at the zoo say her fur is due to a recessive gene inherited from her mother.

It has not named yet. But  the zookeepers  have got some names like Pearl, Sugar, Lily, Snow White and Baringa.

This event  took place on 24 in August 2017.

AUCKLAND CITY TRIP

Auckland City Trip

Last Tuesday our class went to Auckland City.  Geara, our teacher, brought tickets for the train ride for us.  Ryan took us on a ferry ride. We sat down on the soft seats.  We looked around  the Maritime Museum. I loved  the history of the boats We learnt about pollution in the waterways.  I want to go there again.

What a surprise I got when Michelle delighted me by taking me to Candyland in Hamilton. Wow!  I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw lovely yummy candy and chocolate which made my mouth water. They were so delicious I didn't  know which ones to choose because I was only allowed 3.  I selected banana, blueberry and jelly. I had a beautiful time there.

In the holidays Mum woke one morning and said we need to get a new home phone. Because our old one was broken. That afternoon we went to Sylvia Park Mall. Mum bought a lovely shiny black phone. We can hear people when they call us which is great.

Mum was very busy during the school holidays. I thought it would be nice to help her. We woke up early and I helped her to take the stock to the van. We packed the van and went to the sites. Mum was delighted that I helped her.

I went to the movies with my family in the holidays. The movie was called "The smurfs". It was a funny movie and made me laugh . After that we went to Howick  for shopping . It was a lovely sunny day Later on we went to subway for dinner. I had an amazing day with my family.

 What a brilliant day to spend in the countryside. I observed many families enjoying the amazing time outdoors. The playground was very busy. We enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine then we drove to the amazing Waitomo Caves and looked at the wonderful, sparkling glow worms all around us in the caves. The glow worms made delightful patterns on the walls, which I loved. What a brilliant experience I had that day. I will remember it forever. 

Trip to Maritime Museum

Last Tuesday we went on the train to Britomart city. We went on the boat trip. We went to the Maritime Museum first. The man who helped us was called  Ryan. We looked at old stuff and new stuff.
We looked at the boats on the wall inside. 
We had lunch beside the sea where we watched the man doing firing a small canon. Everyone got a big fright as a noise went Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom.
After that we went on the Ferry boat we went under the harbour bridge.We had a great day.It was fun, went back to school on the train.We felt very happy.

My trip to Auckland

On  Tuesday  our class went to the train station  on a train ride. I  saw the statues and the pirates at the Martime museum . We had  morning tea then we got on the boat ride. We saw the harbor  bridge . We went through the tunnels at the museum.  We followed  the clues to find items on  our worksheet. We back to the school went on the train. I enjoy.

What I did at Swimming -By William

On Tuesday we went swimming at the Lagoon Pool and Leisure Center at Panmure. It was a nice, sunny day. My favorite sport unquestionably is swimming. My friends, Braydon, Kate, Angus, and I, had a race across the swimming pool and I won! It was really exciting and so much fun! In the pool we tried different strokes like back stroke, Butterfly and so on. I cant wait to go there again.

Special Olympics 2017 By Rapture


On Thursday March 30th we went to Mt Smart stadium for special Olympics. We went on the bus because it is too far away. We did lots of sports. I did shot-put and javelin. The Warriors also came to see us! We were so lucky to see them in real life! We got posters of the warriors. I won a certificate and a Warriors' bottle for running fast. I felt happy because I won. It was a fun day.

On Sunday morning Sunny picked me up and took me to Lloyd Elsemore park.We played basketball and seaweed tag. After that I went to the pool. I swam a lap and had a frozen stack.We made fruit blocks.It tasted fabulous.It has vitamins and minerals.It is a healthy food to eat.
