In 2015 Edgewater 2 have the responsibility for paper recycling at Edgewater College. We have to learn a lot of new skills including operating some very heavy duty machinery (aka bin lifter).

On Friday our class went to the InterACT Art Festival at the Corbans Estate at Henderson to learn Tape Art. I made a bracelet and it was nice. We watched shows. We saw Vicky and her sister danced and they were great. Some people got their face painted but I didn't. In shed 2 we decorated a book using colour pencils which was tied together with string. I wrote my name in rainbow colours in my book.  We had lunch outside the Opanuku room where it was nice and sunny. It was a fantastic day and I can't wait to go next year.

The Shake Out by Leya

Last Thursday everyone got under their desks  to protect ourselves in case of an  earthquake. I was keeping myself safe by holding the legs of the table.   The bell was noisy and   I got scared and I was uncomfortable.  I hope we never have an earthquake at our school.

I had a lovely holiday because I saw  my  friend Shanann.    She   came   over   to  visit  me.  We played rugby  card games  and  took  photos on my phone of each other . I had a nice time with her. I  watched a movie called Pixel with Katy and Life kidz people at the  Sylvia Park cinema It was a nice movie to see. We had fun.

I had a beautiful holiday because I went to a tennis holiday programme. The coach taught me how to do forehand and backhand.  I had morning tea and lunch before  Mum picked me up. I played Xbox.  It was fun.

My Trip to St Lukes

I had a great holiday because I went to St Lukes. My uncle Roger came to my house to pick me up for the day. We caught a train and a bus because Uncle Roger lives near St. Lukes which is a long long way from my house. When we got off the bus we walked to his house where I saw my Aunty Sandra, Danneka and Shaun. We all went to St. Lukes. My favourite thing was eating egg and chips which I bought at the Food Court. i was happy because it was a fun day.

I had pork and scrambled egg for dinner. Mum cooked them and I helped mum. I had the pork with barbeque sauce. Dad helped with doing the dishes.

My Holiday by William

I had a fantastic holiday because I went to One Tree Hill to climb the hill because I have never climbed  it before. We saw some cute lambs there and some beautiful flowers. It was hard to climb and I got tired and I had to rest a few times. When we got to the top we had buns and chips for lunch. The view was beautiful and we took some photos on our camera. I really liked the lambs the most.  What a great family day we had.

Uncle's Birthday

My weekend  was busy. On Saturday I went to play Xbox with Dad. Then I relaxed. After that I  watched TV. On Sunday we went shopping. Next we went to a restaurant for my Uncle’s birthday. We had a leg of lamb.  Later on I played on my X Box. I had a nice weekend.

On the weekend I went to a birthday party at Xavier’s house in Howick. There were lots of people there with presents for him. 2 rooms decorated with balloons and colourful pictures. I gave him some chocolates. We played a game of “pass the parcel” where everyone had a turn. Next it was time for the party food. We had cherrios, chips and sausage rolls.

What I Did In the Holidays by Shanann

During the holidays my dog bit me on my finger. My dog is called Nacho. He is brown. I played hide and seek with Nacho. He found me, chase me and bit me. It was a little bit hurt. I told my dad about it. My dad told Nacho off. My finger started bleeding so Dad put plaster on it.

Every Thursday we went to the hall to play basketball. First we had to run to warm up. Then we got little paper with letter on it. I got "B". Natasha, Leya, Dillion, and Keenen got "B" too. We had to go to Geara. Geara wanted us to bounce the ball. Then we had to shoot the basketball into the hoop.

I like playing basketball because it makes me happy.

My Trip to Europe by Leya

My family and  I went to the airport . We went away on the plane.  I watched a movie and I ate curry and rice .I also had water and coke to drink.

We went to London. I slept on my bed in the hotel because I was really tired. When I woke up I had pizza. We went for a ride in a car . I saw horses and I saw the queen riding in her carriage. We also saw Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives. 

Then we went to Europe. When we went to Paris it was night time and we saw the Eiffel Tower lit up. We went to Italy,  I had butter chicken and I saw the Colosseum and lots of statues. It was a really fun holiday.

Disco at Tamaki by William

Last Friday our class went to Tamaki  Intermediate for a Disco. We travelled in cars.  We wore mufti. I danced with William from Tamaki. I had chips and an orange drink. I liked the balloons that were in a net over the dance floor. I enjoyed the colourful lights too. I saw many of my friends there. I loved the hologram pictures on the wall because they were pretty bright and sparkly.  What a fun day I had at the Disco. I loved it.

Last Friday, on the 31st of July 2015, our 3 classes went to Tamaki Intermediate for a Hollywood Disco Ball. I danced with my friends and I also danced with Leya and Gregory. I loved the music and the best song I liked was Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. Then I had some orange drink and popcorn. When I was dancing, I looked at the lovely colourful lights, hologram pictures and the props and I loved the golden crowns. I played with the colourful  balloons and passed them around to my friends like Leya and Gregory  The best part of the day was dancing with my friends and seeing the other classes. What fun I had and I hope to go to a disco again.

The Trust Stadium by William

On Thursday 3 classes from Edgewater went to play soccer at The Trust Stadium. We played in teams. We each played 4 games. I really enjoyed the soccer. We won 2 games. We went on the bus to Henderson. There were lots of schools there. I ran to get the ball from the other teams. I was tired afterwards. I had a big day at soccer.

On Saturday I went to Botany with Mum, Uncle Mark, Jackie and Lennie. We went by car. Uncle Mark drove us there.

I saw Kate and said hello to her. Kate was shopping with her Mum.

I bought lollies at The Warehouse and had coke,a  burger and chips at Mc Donalds. Mum had chips and coke and a burger too.

Then I went home.

Horse Riding by Gregory

Every Thursday Mum picks me up from school and takes me to RDA (Riding for the Disabled). RDA is on a farm near Manukau. There are two horses Hershey and Toby but I like riding Toby because he is a friendly horse. Mum helps me use the mounting block to get on to Toby’s back. Sometimes Maru helps too. I ride Toby along a track and then I ride back again. I brought a photo to school of me riding Toby. I am holding on to the reigns and I am wearing a helmet keep me safe in case I fall off.I really like going to RDA. It is fun.

Home Sick

On Friday I was sick and I had a lot of mucous in my throat so I stayed at home. My Mum looked after me. I watched T.V. and enjoyed watching “Back to the Barnyard.” Mum was happy because she liked looking after me.

Christopher Plays Bingo

Holiday with JMR by Conor

On Monday me and Ben went to Waihi with JMR.  We drove to McDonalds to have dinner and I ordered a Hunger buster with extra chips. When we got there we  unpacked our bags.

On Tuesday we went surfing on the beach and Ben was fantastic I was OK but when I tried to stand up I fell over and blistered my toe, but I got a cup of tea for trying. Wahoo! On Wednesday we went to the Kiwi Valley 360. We all went on a bus shaped like a Kiwi fruit we tried fresh apples yum and we got to take feijoas home with us Yay!

On Wednesday we went to The Gold discovery Center I watched a movie about the miners.

On Thursday we packed  our bugs.

On Friday we got ready for the trip back we stopped for shopping I got a pen some lip barm and a word search book.

I felt happy what a fun holiday Yay.

Camp By Monica

On Friday after school I went to the camp . I made a nice hat for the camp kids. I saw Justin at camp. He is so cute like Josh Houthm my big brother. I went with my friends Alex, Samine, Kate, and Veartie. My brother Eddie and Josh went to camp too. I also saw Conor and Keenen at camp. I went to a shop with the camp care. I had fun there. Conor and Keenen too. Alex, Samine, Kate, Josh, Eddie Veartie had fun too.
